The Importance of Individualized Lessons in Baseball

The Importance of Individualized Lessons in Baseball

Everyone is different. Everyone moves different, has different strengths, different weaknesses, and different experiences. People don't all fit into one mold, and that goes for athletes too.  And, there likely isn't a team sport out there that requires so much one-on-one, individualized (or customized) training as baseball.

Team practices are great.  They are of the upmost importance during the season. They are needed to work on team concepts, to get reps, and to build and grow as a team.  But no team practice can provided the customized, individualized attention that each player needs to reach their full potential.  This is where individual, one-on-one coaching becomes key.

A good private coach will work with the athlete to understand their personal goals, what the team needs from them, and what their coach is currently working with them on and teaching.  The last thing you want to do (especially in season) is to fill an athletes head with conflicting noise from several different coaches.  That only serves to confuse the player and can lead to frustration, less success, and burn-out.

That is where CTX Athletics can come in. We work with everything that you are already doing and with how your body naturally moves.  We assess your strengths and weaknesses, using the strengths as a foundation to build on while also correcting your weaknesses.  We take the time to understand the goals of each athlete we work with, where they are coming from, and where they want to go.

Offseason is another important time for individual training and work.  The offseason is when you can really re-work any flaws in your mechanics (pitching, hitting, fielding, etc.)  The offseason is also a great time to build up your strength and athleticism, something that is often neglected by baseball players.  CTX Athletics can help with all of that.  Whether you are looking to throw and build arm-strength and velocity, or if you are taking time away from throwing to let your arm heal, CTX can work with you and build a plan to keep you progressing to your goals.

So, whether you are 7 years old and just starting your career in baseball or you are in high school or college and looking for that little extra to get you noticed by someone at the next level, whether it is pitching, hitting, fielding, catching, strength, speed, or whatever you need, CTX Athletics will provide you with that extra that you need to stand out.  We can build programs and consistently monitor you throughout your playing career to keep you growing and improving.

Feel free to reach out and contact us with any and all questions you have. We would love to help you out!
